When I was pregnant with my first child, there seemed to be more options for Edmonton maternity stores. There were Thyme and Motherhood Maternity brick-and-mortar stores around; while they are no longer in physical stores, they are still available online. In this blog article, I include both physical and online options.
Finding comfortable and high-quality maternity clothing in Edmonton can be a challenge, which is why I have compiled this list of maternity stores for both online and stores in Edmonton.
So, I asked mamas from my Edmonton, Alberta-based motherhood group. It appears that there are fewer brick-and-mortar options than there were before.

One of the most-rated Edmonton Maternity Stores is The Fourth. It is actually Karena Dang’s (doula) personal recommendation. The Fourth is an Edmonton-based brick-and-mortar maternity store found in Southside Edmonton, located on the second floor at Southgate Mall. It is independently owned by Iris, who is a mother of three girls. This store is truly size-inclusive! The Fourth carries sizes from XS all the way to 5XL.
If you are expecting and need more formal wear to wear to special events, they have a maternity wedding guest section for dresses a well as photo-shoot friendly maternity dresses. Though for photo sessions, I highly recommend getting floor-length dresses. I do photograph maternity sessions, you can check out my work here.
The Fourth has conveniently curated a maternity wardrobe for budget-conscious mothers-to-be.
If you are looking for maternity athletic wear, Joyleta is the right maternity store choice that is closer for residents from Sherwood Park, Ardrossan and Fort Saskatchewan area. Joyleta offers maternity activewear: maternity sports bras, maternity leggings, nursing bras and tops (nursing hoodies) — so you can still maintain your active lifestyle without needing to wear anything baggy. The physical location for this maternity store is at an acreage in Sherwood Park so that you can find the right fit with great confidence. There is free local pick-up or free shipping for orders over $95 CAD.
Edit: at the time that this blog article was published on Nov 30, 2023, Bosom Babies was an existing store. Around early December, they had emailed their subscribers that they are closing for good. Therefore, Bosom Babies has been removed as of Dec 27, 2023. Baby and Beyond in Sherwood Park is also not on this list as they permanently closed in February 2023.
Added to the list is Mom & Babes Boutique.

Update: They are currently having a 70% off closing sale in December 2023. Shortly after this blog was published, the owner announced the store closure. (Completely unrelated, of course.)
Bosom Babies is one of the four Edmonton maternity stores that carries maternity clothing: nursing bras, maternity dresses, maternity coats that are also baby-wearing friendly. Bosom Babies is also a great store to buy reusable nursing pads — get the MotherEase ones as they are very absorbent.
Bosom Babies is also featured in my Edmonton Baby stores.
Yo Mama Maternity is another good option as one of the Edmonton Maternity Stores. One of the feedback that was given was that the store may not carry enough plus-sized maternity clothing options. However, I myself have frequented Yo Mama Maternity while pregnant with both kids and they carried a good variety of nursing clothing that was also bump-friendly.
Yo Mama Maternity carries options for nursing bras as well as business formal maternity clothing that are appropriate for the office.
Momzelle is a Canadian maternity and nursing store, based in Quebec. Its physical store location is 2 rue St-Pierre, Pont-Rouge, Quebec G3H 1W1
Fun fact about Momzelle is that they have been featured on Dragon’s Den before!
They do offer free shipping for orders over $75 CAD.
My personal favourites from Momzelle are their nursing dresses and nursing hoodies.

Mom and Babes Boutique was founded by Victoria, a local Edmonton mom who started by operating out of her Southwest Edmonton home. She now runs a brick-and-mortar store in Drayton Valley. According to her shipping policy, she still offers free local Edmonton pick-up. Shipping within Canada is free for orders over CAD$150. The store currently appears to carry more products for babies; however, there are cute nursing wraps and covers that will come in very handy for mothers planning to breastfeed.
Motherhood has an e-commerce option: Motherhood Maternity
Thyme Maternity is still available online via Reitman’s website.
