Biera in Ritchie Market: Edmonton’s Most Intimate & Romantic Small Wedding Venue

View of Biera, Edmonton at a wedding reception

Do you love craft beer? Fine dining as in a carefully crafted menu for you & your future spouse and your wedding guests? Check out Biera, Edmonton in Ritchie Market in this Edmonton brewery small wedding blog feature. The beer is brewed by Blind Enthusiasm. Their food is creatively paired with beer. I was on the job for this wedding, so I drank my choice of caffeinated beverage!

How to Plan a Small Wedding in Edmonton

Small weddings can be cozy, luxurious and intimate. I love small weddings as it is a lot of fun to watch guests mingle with one another and catch up with the wedding couple. How many people you can invite depends on the venue’s capacity. Choosing a venue that provides excellent food and drinks as well as adequate sound systems will help alleviate much of the planning. In this blog article, we will look at specifically Biera, Edmonton. It has a modern industrial vibe, with twinkling lights in Ritchie Market, which adds to the ambience around the bar.

What Wedding Guests will remember: the food, the conversations and the experience

As well as wedding photographs — photographs capture your wedding day as it happens. As a wedding photographer, I love wedding venues where conversations can be carried with ease. There is no yelling required to hear each other. Please check out my portfolio if you have yet to book a wedding photographer. At Biera in Ritchie Market, Edmonton, you have the option of adding the cheese and charcuterie for your guests. Biera serves house-made sourdough bread and seeded crackers as well as house-made savoury dips and condiments. Assorted fresh local seasonable vegetables can be found on the charcuterie board.

If you desire for a good plating experience and customized drinks, a hot food menu is a great option. From salads to main course, Biera’s food is fresh and a gastronomical delight! The blend of flavours from tart and savoury of the mixture of seasonal vegetables and sauce to accompany the meat, followed by sweet cranberries — every bite is a delectable discovery.

Biera as an Edmonton Small Wedding Venue

While Biera has a maximum capacity of 100 people, this wedding that I photographed had a guest list of 60. If you require wedding guests to be in the same area all at once, 60 people is the capacity. The second floor of Biera at Ritchie Market is a polished concrete flooring, fondly named as the Barrel Room. The plus side is that there is a lot of natural light at the Barrel Room at Biera. The thing to note, however, logistically speaking is that the ceremony starting time is important. When the sun is harsh, your guests would be staring against the sunbeams.

Biera is an adults-only venue on the main floor for reception. Children are allowed only during the ceremony. For your convenience, you can rent linens, microphone, podium, projector, screen, and additional seating and tables from this wedding venue.

Since this wedding venue is located in a residential area, their last call for drinks is 11 PM as they close at midnight.

Close Proximity to Mill Creek Ravine for Portraits

The bonus of choosing Biera as your wedding venue is its proximity to Mill Creek Ravine for family photographs and wedding portraits. There are many options at Mill Creek Ravine for photographs. In July and early August, wildflowers can be spotted. There is enough shady spots by the entrance of the ravine even if your timeline is tight and there is no time to go hike into the ravine for formal photographs.
