Are you a fan of nature like me? Are you looking for a wedding venue that fits 60 people maximum? Look no further: a Yorath House wedding could be your answer.
Hi! I am Cynthia, a wedding photographer in Alberta. I have had the pleasure of photographing an intimate wedding ceremony at Yorath House, planned by Sevy of L’Atelier Designs and Pop Up Weddings YEG.
Address:
13110 Buena Vista Rd NW, Edmonton, Alberta
Website: https://www.edmonton.ca/activities_parks_recreation/parks_rivervalley/yorath-house
Yorath House is close proximity to Edmonton Valley Zoo, Buena Vista Park and Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park. Yorath House was built in 1949. The Yorath family occupied this two-storey house until 1992, when it was sold to the City of Edmonton. The redeveloped house includes a main-floor event space, a second-floor multi-purpose space with a large terrace, a second-floor meeting room with a small balcony and a large outdoor event space. It has a log cabin exterior and a very modern interior.
It is walking distance to the river and you can find many mature trees for decent foliage.
Besides being close to great nature views, you can have getting-ready content taken right here. There are two rooms upstairs where the dark & moodier room can be used for groom getting ready photos.
And a separate room for the bride to get ready.
There is a bar area on the main floor.
Access is to the full facility – main and 2nd-floor event spaces. The main floor has seating for 56 people at round tables with a break-out space that has 4 cocktail tables with stools.
The 2nd floor has a space for 48 people at banquet tables. The maximum capacity for events at the venue is 60 people. (The main floor and 2nd floor numbers cannot be combined.)
Note: Besides tables and chairs, the City of Edmonton does not provide any additional event equipment or services. Linens, dishes, audio-visual, and such must be brought in. All items brought into the venue must leave by the end of your scheduled event time.
To plan a Yorath House wedding, you can opt for a combination of ceremony, cocktail & dinner. The break-out space on the main area is big enough to host a cocktail party. It is also perfect for an elopement within Edmonton.
