Swimming in Sherwood Park

Swimming is a great life skill to learn. You can sign up your kids as one of the things to do in Sherwood Park. Did you know swimming for kids 0 to 24 months is free at Kinsmen Leisure Centre and Emerald Hills? You can check the schedule for the kids’ pool drop-in times for each pool. If you are signing up for swimming lessons, set an alarm as a reminder — once the phone line opens at 7:30 AM, spots are gone like hotcakes! (Many Edmontonians prefer to come to Sherwood Park for swimming lessons as the quality of swimming lessons, especially at Emerald Hills, is exceptional!)

It is important to note that the supervision rate is one adult to three children for drop-in swimming.

If you want something fun, like a water park, check out the Millenium Place. Any of the three main recreation centres in Sherwood Park allows you to rent for private parties (birthdays, anniversaries).

Indoor Playgrounds in Sherwood Park

During colder months, it is harder for kids to burn energy off! Millenium Place has an indoor play space.

Minor Hockey Programs in Sherwood Park

Does your kid want to be a goalie? One of the fun things to do in Sherwood Park with your kids is to sign them up for hockey. The Sherwood Park Minor Hockey Association (SPMHA) offers hockey programs from Discovery to U21. There are also summer camps, typically hosted in August, to help kids work on their power skating, shooting, defensive tactics, checking & goaltending skills. If you are worried about hockey being a contact sport, do keep in mind that there is no checking involved with younger kids — there is a certain level in minor hockey when contact is more acceptable.

The Makery Space

Address: 52 Sioux Rd #107, Sherwood Park, AB T8A 4X1
https://www.themakeryspace.com

Do you have kids who LOVE messy play and love to explore? The Makery Space is a STEM lab (science, technology, engineering, math). Your kids will have the opportunity to learn through physical play. There are classes you can sign up for — or you can also book the Makery Space for private birthday parties!

The best part? They do the clean-up for sensory play.
